Photo and narration by Earle Smith
The QSL card has a story behind it. Lynn (Tennant) and his long time buddy (whose
name I can't recall now), with time on their hands at Alert, took a lino
block, made a printing stamp from it and produced the basic QSL card. Then
they, and others, would fill in the colours as needed, all by hand. I was
the only one allowed to operate my personal ham station VE8AT up there at
that time so ran all of the phone patches, etc., for the team. They
appreciated my efforts enough to handmake the QSLs. One now resides in the
Telecom Museum at Kingston, so I understand.
